SUMMARY:On the Go Group Book Study
DESCRIPTION:The next On The Go Book Study will be Tuesday June 8 2-3:30 pm on Zoom. Susan Lowder from St Martin in the Fields will facilitate discussion of the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. It’s currently available for sale on Amazon for $6.92. \nThe short book is set in a small Nigerian village where things…fall apart. First for the main character\, then as missionaries begin arriving\, for the entire village. The book calls us to question the legitimacy of colonization and allows us to see a small part of Africa in a new way.

SUMMARY:Afternoon Book Study
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to join the St Stephen’s Study Group for our April discussions of the book White Fragility: Why is it so hard for white people to talk about racism. This New York Times best-selling book explores the counterproductive reactions white people often have when their assumptions about race are challenged\, and how these reactions maintain racial inequality. It’s available for purchase on Amazon HERE.  We will meet on April 1 and 15 at 3:00 PM. \nThe Afternoon Study Group generally meets on the first and third Wednesdays. It is currently a small group of six to eight but is open to all women and men who can attend on a weekday afternoon. We have participants who come and go based on the book selection\, too. There is plenty of flexibility in this welcoming group.  We enrich our spiritual lives through discussion of diverse materials. Members of the group are invited to make suggestions of books or media to explore. To learn more contact Barb Cutter.
